Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), April 3 – In a demonstration of strict enforcement of the election code of conduct, an Election Commission (EC) flying squad intercepted and searched the vehicle of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Friday while he was traveling to Tirunelveli for election campaigning.
The inspection took place at a designated checkpoint where officials signaled the chief minister's convoy to stop. According to sources, the squad conducted a routine check of the vehicle's interior and luggage to ensure compliance with the Model Code of Conduct.
Stalin, who is also the president of the DMK, fully cooperated with the officials, sources said. After finding no prohibited items or unaccounted cash, the team cleared the convoy to proceed.
This follows a similar inspection earlier this week on the Tiruchi-Nagapattinam highway, highlighting the Election Commission's heightened vigilance across the state.
