Tiruchirappalli (Tamil Nadu), April 1 Chief Minister MK Stalin accused the BJP on Wednesday of plotting to cause violence in Tamil Nadu, similar to what happened in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur, and asserted that his party had successfully thwarted their plans.
Addressing a DMK rally here for the upcoming Assembly elections, Stalin, the president of the ruling DMK, stated that Tamil Nadu was free from caste riots, communal violence, and mob violence seen in BJP-ruled states, as well as the ongoing violence in Manipur.
However, the BJP had attempted to create such a scenario in Tamil Nadu, but his party successfully prevented it, the chief minister said.
He assured women that they would receive a coupon worth Rs 8,000 to purchase household appliances of their choice from shops of their choice in their respective areas, if the DMK were to regain power in the state.
He also stated that the monthly assistance for women would be doubled to Rs 2,000 per month, and similarly, the assistance for college students pursuing higher education would be increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per month.
