
Tiruchirappalli, March 11 The Centre has sanctioned new projects worth Rs 13 lakh crore to Tamil Nadu in the last 12 years, Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, L Murugan, said on Wednesday.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi had unveiled new projects worth Rs 5,600 crore on March 1. Today, he has unveiled new projects worth Rs 6,500 crore," Murugan said at the event, which was also attended by the Prime Minister.
"In the last 12 years, he has inaugurated new projects worth Rs 13 lakh crore for the progress of the State. Through his various initiatives, Modi has taken the Tamil language, culture, and literature, including the works of the saint Thiruvalluvar, to the global arena," he said.
He is credited with taking the popular verse "Yadhum Oore, Yaavarum Kelir" to the United Nations Assembly, Murugan said in his welcome address.
In 2019, addressing the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Modi invoked the quotes of Tamil philosopher Kaniyan Pungundranar, "Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir," which means "we belong to all places, and to everyone."
PM Modi later inaugurated and dedicated various projects worth about Rs 5,650 crore to the nation.
