
Development projects launched in Tamulpur
In Assam, the Tamulpur district is experiencing a new phase of development as several major projects worth ₹150 crore were launched on Sunday.
BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary laid the foundation stones of several projects at four locations in the district. These include the laying of the foundation stone for the Nagrijuli Degree College, the construction of a mini stadium at Owbari, and development work at Shuklai Park in Naokata, which will feature a toy train, an open gym, and a musical fountain.
Speaking at a large public gathering in Nagrijuli, Mohilary also extended financial assistance under the "Assam Darshan" scheme to six religious institutions in the region.
Meanwhile, Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah laid the foundation stone of a 1.5 km railway overbridge on the Goreswar-Baihata Chariali road, a project estimated to cost ₹136 crore. The minister stated that the construction is expected to be completed within the next two years.
Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, several BTC executive members, district authorities, and other dignitaries were present at the event.
