
Farooq Ahmad Shah reviews developmental works of past year, discusses future plans and stresses public participation for grassroots governance in constituency
March 10, Tangmarg: Member of Legislative Assembly Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, chaired a meeting of officers and members of the public from Tangmarg, Khaipora and Chandil blocks at Town Hall Tangmarg to review the progress of developmental works undertaken during the previous year and discuss plans for the upcoming year.
During the meeting, officers from various departments briefed the MLA about the status and progress of works executed in the past year, including projects related to road connectivity, water supply, electricity and other basic infrastructure. The discussions also focused on identifying priority works and developmental requirements for the coming year.
Several members of the public and delegations present on the occasion shared their suggestions and highlighted the needs of their respective areas so that these could be incorporated into upcoming development plans.
Addressing the meeting, the MLA directed officers to prepare development plans for the next year in consultation with local residents. He stressed that public participation in planning is essential to ensure governance at the grassroots level and to make government services accessible at people’s doorsteps.
He also assured the public of his commitment to the overall development of the Gulmarg constituency and asked the concerned departments to ensure better coordination and effective implementation of developmental works in the coming year.
Officers from various departments were present and apprised the MLA about the progress of previous works and future development proposals for the area.
