Tanvi defeated Japan's sixth-seeded Natsuki Nidaira 21-14, 21-14 in yesterday's quarter-final match.
In the last four matches, India's Isharani Baruah will face Thailand's Pitchamon Opatniputh tonight. Isharani advanced to the semi-final after Malvika Bansod retired mid-way during the women's singles quarter-final match, trailing 9-21, 7-15 in a match between two Indian players.
Earlier in the day, the Indian men's doubles pair of Arjun Madathil Ramachandran and Hariharan Amsakarunan were eliminated from the tournament after losing to the Indonesian pair of Bagas Maulana and Leo Carnando 12-21, 20-22 in the quarter-final.
