
The Jammu Municipal Corporation has announced a three-day "Tawi Mahotsav" from April 14 to 16 at the Tawi River Front, coinciding with Baisakhi.
Speaking at a press conference, JMC Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav stated that the festival will be organized in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Information and Public Relations.
He informed that boating facilities will be available to the public throughout the festival, while a grand traditional wrestling competition will also be a key highlight of the celebrations.
The event will showcase Dogri cuisine, handloom and handicraft stalls, laser shows, children's activities, and vibrant cultural performances, offering a blend of tradition and entertainment for visitors.
Yadav appealed to people to participate in large numbers along with their families and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the region.
He added that the festival will also serve as a platform to promote awareness about cleanliness and the conservation of the Tawi River.
