New Delhi, March 8 Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, and Hardik Pandya were the four Indians named in the ICC's Team of the Tournament for the 2026 T20 World Cup, after their team secured a record third title.
Samson, who led the winning quartet with 321 runs in just five innings, was named Player of the Tournament.
Samson initially played outside the Indian starting eleven but shone with Player of the Match performances against the West Indies and England before scoring a record 89 against New Zealand in the final on Sunday, making him the highest individual scorer in a Men's T20 World Cup final.
Kishan, who scored 317 runs – the fourth-most by any player – anchored India's batting performances with a strike rate of 193.29, despite his inconsistent performances at the top of the order.
He scored a masterful 77 as an opener against Pakistan before adjusting to number three with crucial knocks against England and New Zealand, including a half-century in the final.
Pandya, the third Indian batter in the team, was recognised for his contributions with both bat and ball. He scored two half-centuries and delivered crucial spells when needed, including 52 off 28 against Namibia, while he also took nine wickets in all.
Bumrah, the fourth Indian player in the team, was recognised for his excellent bowling performances, especially in the final, which earned him the Player of the Match award.
Bumrah finished as the tournament's joint-leading wicket-taker, with 14 wickets in eight matches. He took four wickets for 15 in the final and maintained an economy rate of 6.21 throughout the tournament.
The top of the order also includes Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan, who finished as the tournament's top run-scorer with a total of 383 runs. This came at an average of 76.60 and was highlighted by two centuries, against Sri Lanka and Namibia.
