New Delhi, April 9 The Municipal Corporation of Delhi launched a web application for over 1,500 of its schools on Thursday, which will allow parents to track their children's academic progress, attendance, and homework online.

The civic body also distributed scholarships to 500 students.

According to an official statement by the MCD, 500 meritorious students received Rs 1,000 each directly into their bank accounts.

Meanwhile, the newly launched web application will allow parents to monitor classwork, homework, attendance, and other school-related updates remotely, officials said, adding that it is part of the civic body’s push to integrate technology into its education system.

“With this web application and QR code-based access, parents will be able to monitor their children’s progress and school activities from the comfort of their homes,” said MCD Education Committee Chairman Yogesh Verma.

The scholarships were sponsored by a private company, the statement read.

Officials said the civic body will continue to roll out initiatives aimed at improving learning outcomes and student welfare in its schools.
