March 06, New Delhi: Abbas Araghchi has rejected claims by Donald Trump that Tehran had sought a ceasefire.
Araghchi stated that Iran had not requested a ceasefire and warned that the country was prepared for any ground invasion, adding that such a move would be "catastrophic" for its enemies. He also said that Tehran is awaiting the United States.
Iran also stated that it had entered negotiations with the United States despite doubts about Washington's intentions, but was attacked before the agreed timeline for talks concluded.
Meanwhile, the US has said that the objective of its current military engagement with Iran is to ensure a regional transition in which West Asia no longer poses a global security threat.
