
Hyderabad, March 4 Holi, the festival of colors, was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Telangana on Wednesday as people smeared 'gulal' on each other's faces and distributed sweets to friends and relatives.
Children and young people enjoyed the Holi celebrations organized in apartments and other residential complexes in Hyderabad and other towns in the state.
The festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Indira Park by the Indira Park Walkers Association.
Former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, BRS MLA Ch Malla Reddy, and several other political figures also participated in the Holi celebrations.
"Our festivals have a deep meaning. Holi symbolizes friendship and love. The festival strengthens unity in society. There are no differences based on caste or discrimination during these festivals. Everyone comes together to celebrate," Dattatreya told
North Indian communities in Hyderabad organized 'Holika Dahan' on the occasion.
Residents of some localities celebrated Holi on Tuesday.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, state BJP president N Ramchander Rao, and other leaders conveyed their greetings on the occasion of Holi.
