RAMBAN, February 17: Deputy Commissioner of Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, chaired the District-Level Telecom Committee meeting to review the telecom service and signal situation, with a focus on remote areas and the National Highway.

He instructed BSNL and private operators, including Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, to identify areas with poor coverage and reassess existing tower coverage, submitting a detailed report by February 28. The DC emphasized the importance of uninterrupted tower functionality, adequate power backups, and timely land acquisition for new installations to ensure reliable services, especially during emergencies.

Officials from the police, PWD, forest, and revenue departments participated in the meeting.
