Kolkata, March 31 Engineering major Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited announced on Tuesday that it had received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from JSW Group for the manufacturing and supply of 20 freight wagons, valued at approximately ₹421.38 crore, including GST.
The order includes BLCS wagons, BLSS wagons, BFNV wagons, and BVCM brake vans, designed to support high-capacity container transport and efficient rail logistics operations, according to a statement.
Sudipta Mukherjee, Managing Director, Texmaco Rail & Engineering, said the order "further strengthens Texmaco's long-standing role in supporting India's expanding private freight wagon ecosystem."
He added that as industries increasingly adopt rail-based logistics for efficiency and sustainability, the company remains committed to delivering high-quality rolling stock solutions to enhance freight capacity and operational reliability.
The order reflects the growing participation of private players in rail logistics, driven by Indian Railways' policy initiatives to improve freight movement efficiency and reduce logistics costs.
Texmaco has a diversified portfolio spanning freight cars, rail infrastructure, and electrical systems.
