
New Delhi, March 11 The Government of Odisha has declared Jindal Steel as the preferred bidder for the Thakurani-A1 iron ore block located in Keonjhar, Odisha.
The mine, covering an area of 202 Ha in Keonjhar, has been secured at a premium of 101.20%, the steel manufacturer stated in a filing with the stock exchange.
The Thakurani-A1 iron ore block was part of a recent auction round for 12 virgin mineral blocks notified by the Odisha Directorate of Mines and Geology in December 2025, the company said.
"The virgin block is a G3-level block with around 50 million tonnes of iron ore resources," Jindal Steel stated, citing government documents.
