
Thane, February 18 A chaotic scene unfolded in the Titwala town in Thane district of Maharashtra on Wednesday morning when a truck crashed into several vehicles and pedestrians on a congested road, resulting in six injuries.
Several vehicles were damaged in the incident that occurred in the Balyani Bazaar area around 9 am, according to police.
The speeding truck entered the narrow lanes of the crowded area during the morning rush hour, when people were commuting to work and local vendors were setting up their shops. As the driver lost control, the truck crashed into a total of 12 vehicles, including rickshaws, motorcycles, and cars.
More than six pedestrians, including a rickshaw driver, sustained injuries during the incident. Local citizens quickly transported the victims to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment, the police said.
The driver escaped from the scene, they added, noting that an investigation into the incident was underway.
