
Ambala, March 13 The Special Task Force (STF) of the Ambala police arrested three young men and recovered nearly 2 kg of explosive material from them on Friday, an official said.
According to Ambala Deputy Superintendent of Police (STF) Aman Kumar, they received information that three young men, on a motorcycle and carrying explosive material, were traveling from Barara towards Ambala.
Acting on the information, the STF team set up barricades on the Barara-Sadhaura road, effectively blocking the route.
As a precautionary measure, vehicular movement on the road was halted during this time, and traffic was diverted to alternative routes.
When the young men arrived at the scene on their motorcycle, the STF team was already in position, waiting to apprehend them.
A subsequent search of the three men led to the recovery of approximately 2 kg of explosive material, which was concealed in a bag.
Preliminary investigations have identified the three arrested young men as residents of Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), Ajmer (Rajasthan), and the village of Kabansi in the Ambala district. They are between the ages of 20 and 25.
An investigation is underway to determine the source of such a large quantity of explosives and their intended purpose.
