TMC-BJP Conflict Escalates Following Attack on Shashi Panja's Residence.webp

Kolkata, March 15 Senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh on Sunday termed the allegations of an attack on the residence of West Bengal minister Shashi Panja as "drama" and warned that similar incidents could take place at locations linked to Trinamool Congress leaders.

Speaking to reporters, Ghosh said attacks could also happen at the residence of Trinamool leader Madan Mitra in Bhowanipore and in Chetla, where Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim lives.

"Shashi Panja is indulging in drama. As a teacher guides, the student follows. When the CBI arrested Sudip Bandyopadhyay, they brought a mob and vandalized the party office. Yesterday, they also did the same. They brought a mob and were throwing stones and bricks at buses. They didn't realize that things wouldn't always remain the same. Our workers are prepared. If you are not careful now, the consequences will not be limited to the head — they will have to be tied in many other places...," the BJP leader said.

"If Shashi Panja's house can be attacked, an attack can also happen in Kalighat. An attack can happen at Madan Mitra's house or in Chetla. And it will happen — remember this. Nadda ji was attacked here. I myself was in the car. They put up 'Modi Go Back' hoardings. After being beaten once, they removed those hoardings. If there is too much excess, I will bring down the Trinamool itself," he added.

Clashes broke out between TMC and BJP supporters in central Kolkata on Saturday, barely half an hour before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally at the Brigade Parade Ground here, leaving eight police personnel and a leader of the saffron party injured.

Allegations also surfaced that stones were thrown at the residence of West Bengal minister Shashi Panja in the Girish Park area.
