
Kolkata, April 9 Debasish Kumar, the Trinamool Congress candidate for the Rashbehari assembly constituency in south Kolkata, who is seeking re-election from the seat, has declared movable and immovable assets worth a total of Rs 4.95 crore.
In the affidavit filed for the 2021 assembly elections from the same constituency, Kumar had declared movable and immovable assets worth Rs 3.29 crore.
While his movable assets were then worth Rs 2.12 crore, his immovable assets had a market value of Rs 1.17 crore.
According to his affidavit for the 2026 assembly elections, Kumar has movable assets worth Rs 3.49 crore and immovable assets, including two residential flats, currently valued at a total of Rs 1.46 crore.
Kumar earned Rs 46.17 lakh in the 2020-21 financial year, while in the 2024-25 fiscal, he declared an annual income of Rs 12.6 lakh as per his income tax returns.
Among his movable assets, the TMC candidate owns two trucks, has a partnership in a company named Kumar Industries, and holds bank fixed deposits.
Kumar, who has no pending criminal cases, declared business as his source of income.
Kumar's spouse, stated to be a businesswoman in his affidavit, has movable assets worth Rs 1.08 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 1.89 crore.
The 66-year-old TMC candidate stated that he obtained a Master of Commerce degree from MATS University in 2021.
