TMC Raises Concerns, EC Reassures of Neutral Process.webp

The Election Commission of India today assured that the upcoming elections in West Bengal would be completely free from any fear, violence, intimidation, bribery, and any form of booth or source manipulation. The Commission made this statement in a social media post after meeting a delegation from the Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Earlier, the TMC delegation, which includes senior leaders Derek O’Brien, Sagarika Ghose, Saket Gokhale, and Menaka Guruswamy, submitted a memorandum to the commission, raising their concerns about the neutrality, fairness, and transparency of the electoral process in West Bengal.

The delegation emphasized that any compromise in the neutrality of those conducting elections directly impacts the credibility of the outcome and the faith of citizens in democratic institutions. The TMC urged the Election Commission to take these concerns seriously and ensure that the electoral process is conducted in a prompt, transparent, and unbiased manner to preserve public trust.
