In a significant move aimed at promoting tourism and facilitating pilgrims, the administration led by the Lieutenant Governor has reopened several prominent tourist destinations in the Reasi district, including the revered Devi Pindi shrine.
The decision has been widely welcomed by locals, traders, and devotees, who believe that this will provide a fresh boost to religious tourism and revitalize the local economy. With improved security arrangements and enhanced visitor facilities in place, the administration has assured visitors of a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience.
MLA Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Baldev Raj, praised the initiative of the Lieutenant Governor's administration, calling it a "timely and people-friendly decision." He said that reopening these sites would not only revive tourism activities but also provide much-needed livelihood support to those dependent on the pilgrimage and tourism sectors.
He further expressed hope that continued administrative support would strengthen infrastructure development and promote Reasi as a major spiritual and tourist hub in Jammu & Kashmir.
The district administration has urged visitors to strictly adhere to safety guidelines and cooperate with authorities to maintain discipline and cleanliness at the reopened destinations.
