
The Jammu & Kashmir Police in Ganderbal have seized 2 tractors carrying illegally extracted construction minerals within the jurisdiction of the Ganderbal Police Station.
Srinagar, March 11: Continuing its sustained efforts against illegal mining and the transportation of minerals, the Jammu & Kashmir Police in Ganderbal have seized 2 tractors carrying illegally extracted construction minerals within the jurisdiction of the Ganderbal Police Station.
The vehicles were intercepted by a police team from the Ganderbal Police Station during routine patrolling and checks. Upon inspection, the vehicles were found transporting mining materials without valid authorization, in violation of the prescribed regulations. Accordingly, both vehicles were seized on the spot, and the matter was taken up with the relevant Geology & Mining Department, which subsequently imposed the necessary fines under the relevant provisions of law.
The J&K Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining activities and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in protecting natural resources. Strict action will continue against those found engaging in such unlawful practices.
