
New Delhi, February 22 – In a scathing critique of the interim US trade deal, the Congress on Sunday stated that it reflects the slogan "Abki baar Trump se haar" and should be put "on hold" in light of the confusion following the American Supreme Court's ruling against President Donald Trump's global tariffs.
Congress general secretary in-charge communications, Jairam Ramesh, said the terms of the framework for the interim agreement must be renegotiated, and the clause regarding import liberalization, especially of agricultural products, must be scrapped.
Ramesh stated that trade agreements are based on mutual concessions, but India has only made concessions under the interim trade pact.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made the slogan 'Abki baar Trump Sarkar' in 2019, but this framework for an interim agreement is proof that 'Abki baar Trump se haar'," Ramesh told
