
TRAI's outreach programme in Srinagar, held at a college, focused on telecom quality, cyber fraud awareness, DND solutions, and consumer participation to improve service standards.
February 26, Srinagar: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Regional Office Delhi, conducted a Consumer Outreach Programme on Service Quality in the Telecom and Broadcasting sector at Government College for Women, M.A. Road.
Approximately 200 participants, including students, faculty members, representatives of TRAI-registered consumer organizations, telecom service providers, and officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Government, attended the programme.
Officers from TRAI, including Shri Rajesh Tripathi, Joint Advisor, and Shri Sushil Kumar Bansal, Senior Research Officer, delivered detailed sessions on improving the quality of telecom and broadcasting services. Representatives from major service providers also participated in the discussions.
Special sessions were conducted on cyber fraud, highlighting common digital threats and the preventive measures consumers can take to protect themselves from such fraud.
The TRAI DND application was highlighted during the programme, and several participants downloaded the app and other TRAI applications to proactively address unsolicited commercial communications.
Issues related to service quality regulations, drive tests, in-building solutions, building rating, and Right of Way rules in the telecom and broadcasting sector were also discussed in detail.
