
Panna/Dhar (MP), March 26 The railways conducted trial runs on the Panna-Dhar route in Madhya Pradesh before the launch of full services that will connect the two stations to the vast network of the public transporter, an official said on Thursday.
The trial runs, held in Dhar on Monday and in Panna on Tuesday, were a joyous occasion in the region, with people lining up along the route on several stretches and also showering flowers on the engine as it reached the stations, he added. The trial runs, between Nagaud and Phulwari in Panna district, were held in the presence of the Commissioner of Railway Safety.
The 74-kilometre Satna-Panna railway line will be a game changer for Panna and is part of the ambitious Lalitpur-Singrauli line, which will boost trade, tourism, and local economic activity, the official said.
The report of the Commissioner of Railway Safety on the trial run is expected, West Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Harshit Shrivastava said.
