Kathua, March 30, 2026: The Department of Floriculture organized a training and awareness program for farmers under the MIDH scheme in Kathua today. Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, was the chief guest at the event.

A large number of farmers attended the program, with the notable participation of women farmers. Various stalls were set up by departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries, providing farmers with information about government schemes and modern farming practices.

In his address, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma urged youth and farmers to join the Department of Floriculture and take full advantage of government initiatives. He highlighted that the government is offering subsidies and comprehensive support to young farmers to help make floriculture a sustainable and viable source of employment.

The event saw active engagement from progressive farmers, showcasing the growing interest in modern and profitable agricultural practices.
