
Transit accommodation for Prime Minister’s Package employees in Anantnag is nearing completion, with 81% work finished on 20 residential blocks at Shangas.
Mar 11, Srinagar: Significant progress has been achieved in the construction of transit accommodation for employees appointed under the Prime Minister’s Package in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. The housing complex being developed at Shangas is nearing completion, with most of the construction work already finished.
Officials said that around 81 per cent of the construction work has been completed for the 20 residential blocks being built under the project.
Speaking to DD News, Assistant Engineer and Site Incharge Bilal Ahmad said that 14 blocks have been fully completed, while construction work on the remaining six blocks is currently in progress.
The project has been designed to provide transit accommodation for around 320 families of employees working in the Kashmir Valley under the Prime Minister’s Package.
Officials said the work has entered its final phase, and the entire project is expected to be completed by September 2026.
The transit accommodation initiative aims to provide secure, organised and comfortable housing facilities to PM Package employees posted in the Valley, ensuring improved living conditions and administrative support.
