Transparent Procurement System Ensures Grain Purchase - Haryana.webp

Chandigarh, April 11 Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said the state government is committed to procuring every single grain of farmers' produce, and has taken steps to make the system transparent and farmer-friendly.

The chief minister reviewed the wheat procurement process at the Babain grain market in Kurukshetra district and sought to know from farmers if they face any issues related to bringing their crops to mandis, sale and payments, according to an official statement.

Saini said a three-tier crop verification system has been introduced to ensure that the produce brought to mandis matches the registered crop details.

The procurement is being carried out with transparency and accountability, he said, adding that the government is fully committed to protecting farmers' interests.

The chief minister also honoured a farmer, Dharamchand from Hamidpur village, by presenting him with a shawl after he sold his wheat.

He said nodal officers have been appointed in each mandi, while senior officials are monitoring the process.

Deputy commissioners are overseeing the procurement at the district level, and ministers and MLAs are also visiting mandis to review arrangements to ensure farmers do not face inconvenience, the statement said.
