Transparent Surgery: Superhealth Reduces Overmedication & Costs

Transparent Surgery: Superhealth Reduces Overmedication & Costs.webp

Bengaluru, March 10 Superhealth, headquartered in the city, announced the launch of Supersurgery on Tuesday, a new surgical care program designed to address what patients fear most about unnecessary procedures, unpredictable bills, and exhausting discharge delays in hospitals.

In a statement, Superhealth said that surgical decision-making in many private hospitals in India is often influenced by incentive structures, where commissions and sales targets drive procedures, implants, diagnostics, and referrals. Supersurgery removes these incentives entirely.

"Doctors at Superhealth receive fixed salaries with no commissions and have no sales targets or incentives, ensuring that clinical decisions are based solely on what is medically best for the patient," the hospital chain said.

The impact of this design is already visible. Since opening its first hospital in Koramangala in September 2025, nearly 50 per cent of patients who arrived at Superhealth with a prior surgical recommendation were advised non-surgical treatment after an independent clinical review, indicating that the hospital recommends up to 50 per cent fewer surgeries than typical industry practice.

"Supersurgery is the most honest and hassle-free surgical experience ever designed. It addresses overprescription, overbilling, and extreme wait times during discharge. We achieve this through our experienced clinical teams, who receive full-time salaries with no commissions or targets, so they can focus solely on providing the best clinical care for patients," said Varun Dubey, founder and CEO, Superhealth.
