Deputy Commissioner Shrikant Suse inaugurated a solar-powered block library in Trehgam, providing digital resources and modern study facilities for students.

March 04, Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Suse inaugurated a solar-powered Block Library and Reading Room in Trehgam, aimed at strengthening educational infrastructure in the area.

Developed by the Rural Development Department, the Block Trehgam facility was completed in a short period and is designed to provide modern study amenities to students and those preparing for competitive exams.

The library is fully solar-powered and equipped with heating and cooling systems to ensure year-round comfort. It can accommodate 120 students in two daily sessions and features individual study cubicles and 360-degree CCTV surveillance.

To promote digital learning, the facility offers high-speed WiFi and five all-in-one personal computers. Students have access to digital learning platforms such as Testbook, PhysicsWallah, and Google Gemini Pro, along with an offline collection of over 300 books.

Local residents welcomed the initiative, saying it provides a modern and accessible learning space for young people in the region.
