
February 23, New Delhi – At least 17 people, including two foreigners, were killed in a bus accident near Charaundi in the Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality of Dhading along the Prithvi Highway on Monday.
The bus, traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, plunged into the Trishuli River. Among the deceased were 11 men and two women.
A total of 44 passengers were on board. Twenty-six injured people were rescued and taken to various hospitals for immediate treatment.
Rescue operations at the accident site have been completed with the assistance of personnel from all three security agencies, along with local residents.
The bus had departed from Pokhara with 34 passengers on Sunday and experienced the accident in Dhading while en route to Kathmandu.
