
Beed, Apr 8 A senior banker was killed on the spot after a speeding truck collided with his scooter in the Beed district of central Maharashtra on Wednesday morning, police said.
The deceased, Sudarshan Tak (45), was employed with the Deendayal Urban Co-operative Bank and was stationed at its branch in the town of Ambajogai.
According to police, the accident occurred on Ring Road in Ambajogai when Tak was travelling to work on his scooter.
As he was navigating the Ring Road stretch near Tathagat Chowk, a heavy truck, reportedly travelling at high speed, lost control and collided with his two-wheeler from behind. The impact was so severe that Tak sustained fatal injuries and died before medical help could arrive, they said.
"Upon receiving information, the Ambajogai police reached the site to conduct a preliminary investigation. The body was subsequently taken to the Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Government Medical College and Hospital in Ambajogai for an autopsy," a senior official stated.
"We have initiated a detailed investigation into the accident under the guidance of Police Inspector Sharad Jogdand," he said.
