Truck Crashes into House in MP, Man Dies.webp

Bhopal, April 2 – A 50-year-old man was killed and four of his family members were injured when an out-of-control dump truck crashed into a house on a roadside in Madhya Pradesh's Narsinghpur district on Thursday.

The incident occurred in Kamti village, under the Gadarwara police station area. The deceased has been identified as Bhojraj Kaurav (50).

According to police, the heavily loaded dump truck lost control, possibly due to brake failure or excessive speed, and crashed directly into the house located along the roadside. The impact was so severe that the structure was partially damaged.

Four other family members who were inside the house at the time of the crash sustained injuries. One of them, a young girl, was critically injured and was immediately referred to the District Hospital in Narsinghpur for advanced treatment. The condition of the other injured persons is reported to be stable.

Local police reached the scene shortly after the incident and initiated rescue and relief operations. The body of Bhojraj Kaurav was sent for post-mortem, while the injured were rushed to the hospital.

The driver of the dump truck reportedly fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.

A case has been registered against the driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act. Police have launched a search to trace and arrest the absconding driver.

Preliminary investigation suggests the truck may have been carrying construction material or mining debris, which is common in the region. Authorities are examining whether the vehicle was overloaded or lacked proper fitness certification.

Such accidents involving heavy vehicles crashing into roadside dwellings remain a recurring concern in rural Madhya Pradesh, where many houses are located dangerously close to highways and district roads. Road safety experts have repeatedly called for stricter enforcement of traffic rules, better signage, and the construction of proper barriers along high-speed corridors.

District administration officials expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured that all possible medical assistance would be provided to the injured. Police have appealed to the public to share any information that could help in tracing the driver.

The incident has once again highlighted the need for stricter regulation of heavy vehicles and improved road safety measures in the district.
