Sitapur (UP), April 5 Three people were killed and one was seriously injured when a truck carrying fodder lost control and overturned onto a pickup vehicle here on Sunday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Ankit (25), Pushpendra (26), and Sahil (29), they said.
According to police, the truck was traveling from the opposite direction on the Biswan-Reusa road under the Sadarpur police station in Sitapur district.
The driver lost control of the truck due to its excessive load of fodder, causing it to overturn onto the pickup vehicle approaching from the opposite direction.
The pickup truck was severely damaged in the accident.
Three occupants of the pickup truck died on the spot, while another person suffered severe injuries and has been admitted to a hospital, where his condition is critical.
The police have registered a case in this connection, informed the families of the deceased about the incident, and sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination.
