March 27, New Delhi – Amid rising tensions in West Asia, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United States will pause attacks on Iran's energy plants for 10 days, until Monday, April 6, 2026.
In a post on social media, the U.S. President said the move comes following a "request" from the Iranian government. He also stated that negotiations with Tehran were "going very well" and criticised media reports for publishing "erroneous statements" contradicting his claims.
Earlier on Monday, Trump had said he directed the U.S. Department of Defense to delay any military action against Iranian power plants and energy sites for five days, citing ongoing diplomatic engagements with Iran amid escalating tensions in West Asia.
