March 01, New Delhi – U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been killed in airstrikes.

President Trump hailed the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes, stating that they eliminated Iran's leader, while warning that further attacks would continue.

The strikes, which he said were aimed at destroying Iranian missiles and annihilating its navy, followed repeated warnings from the U.S. and Israel that further action would be taken if Iran continued with its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

In a post, President Trump described Khamenei as "one of the most evil people in history."

Calling the development a turning point for Iran and the wider West Asia region, he said the strike was made possible through U.S. intelligence capabilities and coordination with Israel.

President Trump also vowed that there would be no let-up in the airstrikes until the fall of the Islamic republic, urging security forces to stand down.
