March 07, New Delhi: Donald Trump stated that major US defense companies have agreed to quadruple production of what he described as "high-quality" weaponry following a meeting at the White House.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that the expansion of production facilities had already begun three months ago, and that new manufacturing plants were already under construction.
He added that the United States wants to reach "the highest levels of quantity" in weapons production as quickly as possible.
The announcement comes amid the ongoing conflict with Iran. Trump also claimed in the same post that the US has a "virtually unlimited supply" of certain munitions, which he said are currently being used in operations against Iran.
The meeting reportedly involved executives from several major defense contractors as Washington seeks to accelerate weapons manufacturing during the conflict.
