March 30, Kohima: Nagaland made its debut at the ongoing 1st Khelo India Tribal Games in Chhattisgarh, securing its first medal in athletics today.
26-year-old athlete from the Noklak district, Tsuchoi T, won the bronze medal in the women's 5000 metres event, finishing with a time of 18 minutes and 35.6 seconds.
She finished behind Nedi Ngi of Arunachal Pradesh and Aarti Dawar of Madhya Pradesh, who took the top two positions.
The Nagaland team is competing in multiple disciplines, including archery, athletics, and wrestling, at the Games.
