
Asia’s largest Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar will open for visitors on March 16, officials said. Director Floriculture Mathoora Masoom said the garden will showcase about 1.8 million tulips of 70–75 varieties overlooking Dal Lake.
Srinagar, March 10: The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar, recognized as Asia’s largest tulip garden, will open for visitors on March 16, officials said on Tuesday.
Speaking exclusively to PB SHABD, Director Floriculture Kashmir, Mathoora Masoom, said the garden is ready to welcome tourists as tulips have started blooming, prompting the department to open the garden for the season.
She further said that around 1.8 million tulips of nearly 70 to 75 varieties will be on display this year, with enhanced flower-bed density to create a more vibrant and colourful floral spectacle for visitors.
Situated on the foothills of the Zabarwan Range overlooking the scenic Dal Lake, the garden has been fully prepared for the upcoming tourist season.
