
Ahmedabad, April 3 Two passengers were arrested at the Ahmedabad airport on Friday for allegedly possessing hydroponic cannabis worth Rs 2 crore, officials said.
Acting on a tip-off from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), officers from the Customs department's air intelligence unit (AIU) intercepted the two individuals upon their arrival from Bangkok (Thailand) in the morning, they said.
Officers recovered eight vacuum-sealed plastic packets containing a greenish substance from their luggage, and subsequent testing confirmed that it was hydroponic cannabis.
A total of 2.254 kg of the contraband, valued at around Rs 2 crore, was seized.
The two individuals were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
