Shimla, March 26 Two people were killed after a car collided with a private bus near the Pandoh Dam in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, police said.
Two people were also injured in the accident, which occurred on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, they said.
The car, which was coming from the Kullu side, collided with the bus that was heading to Kullu from Mandi. Two occupants of the car – Shashank Sharma and Gayatri Devi, both from Mandi – were killed in the accident, police said.
They said the accident was witnessed by personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force deployed at the Bhakra Beas Management Board, and they rushed the injured – Kashmir Singh of Mandi and Diksha Chauhan of Una – to the Mandi zonal hospital.
A police team reached the scene and recovered the bodies, which were sent for post-mortem.
Superintendent of Police, Mandi, Vinod Kumar, said that an investigation has been launched into the matter.
