
Hyderabad, March 31 A total of 25.45 kg of hydroponic cannabis, valued at Rs 8.9 crore, was seized from two passengers at the international airport here, the DRI said on Tuesday.
Based on specific intelligence, officers from the DRI Hyderabad Zonal Unit and the Air Intelligence Unit of Hyderabad Customs intercepted two Indian passengers arriving from Bangkok to the RGI Airport here on March 29, according to a DRI release.
A systematic search of their baggage revealed packets containing a greenish substance in a lumpy form, which tested positive for ganja (hydroponic cannabis).
The 25.45 kg of hydroponic cannabis, valued at Rs 8.9 crore, has been seized, and the passengers have been arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985, the DRI said.
Further investigation is ongoing, it added.
