Chaibasa (Jharkhand), April 2 Two young men were killed on Thursday after their scooter collided with a roadside tree in the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, a police officer said.

The deceased have been identified as Madhusudan Sundi (20), a resident of Chetansika village, and Jeevan Sawaiya (20) of Barkela village.

Sundi, a student at Tata College, Chaibasa, was riding the scooter while Jeevan, who recently returned from Bengaluru, was the passenger.

"Sundi lost control of the vehicle and hit a roadside tree near Barkela while they were on their way to Chaibasa," the officer said.

Locals rushed to the scene and alerted the police, after which the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead.
