Udaipur, March 15 Fifty-one couples, including those from economically weaker sections and people with disabilities, exchanged vows at a mass wedding ceremony organized by the non-profit Narayan Seva Sansthan in Udaipur.

The 45th free mass wedding ceremony took place over two days at the organization's Seva Mahatirth campus in Liyon Ka Guda, where couples from different parts of the country performed their wedding rituals.

Among the couples, 25 were people with disabilities, while 26 belonged to economically weaker sections of society, the organizers said on Sunday.

The ceremony was attended by several guests and donors, including the institution's founder, Kailash Manav Agarwal.

According to the organizers, many of the beneficiaries had previously received free corrective surgeries, artificial limbs, and rehabilitation services from the organization, which helped them regain mobility and confidence.

Several participants have also benefited from the institution's skill-development programs and are now earning their livelihoods.

To support the newlyweds in starting their married life, the organization provided each couple with household items such as beds, bedding, wardrobes, utensils, gas stoves, dinner sets, and fans. Guests and donors also presented traditional gifts, including mangalsutras, bangles, and anklets.

The event also featured cultural performances depicting the divine weddings of Lord Shiva and Parvati, and Lord Krishna and Rukmini, followed by the ceremonial doli farewell of the brides.

The organization said that through this event, it has facilitated 2,510 marriages of differently-abled and underprivileged individuals so far.
