March 26, New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the launch and implementation of the Regional Connectivity Scheme—UDAN 2.0 for a period of ten years, from fiscal year 2026-27 to 2035-36, with a total budget of ₹28,840 crore.

The UDAN scheme aims to improve regional connectivity by developing 100 airports from existing unserved airstrips, providing operational and maintenance support for regional aerodromes, and constructing 200 modern helipads in remote and hilly areas.
