
Jammu, April 3 Police on Friday apprehended two drug peddlers involved in inter-district trafficking and recovered heroin from their possession during a check in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
A police team, while conducting routine checks at a garage in Chenani, intercepted a Toyota Glanza that was travelling from Udhampur towards the Kashmir Valley, they said.
During the check, four individuals were found travelling in the vehicle. After conducting a personal search of the driver and co-driver, police recovered two transparent plastic packets containing heroin from the two individuals, officials noted, adding that the accused have been identified as Tawheed Ahmad Khan and Nayyeem Ahmad Akhoon, both from Kashmir.
In this connection, a case has been registered at Chenani Police Station under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, police said.
