Udhayanidhi Stalin Criticizes Palaniswami's Remarks.webp

Chennai, April 9 DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin on Thursday criticized Edappadi K Palaniswami for his remarks targeting Chief Minister M K Stalin, alleging that while he was "obsessed" with criticizing him, the AIADMK supremo was "spreading false information" about his father.

Udhayanidhi said that Palaniswami has been targeting Stalin, but now suddenly turned his attention to the Chief Minister.

On April 8, while campaigning in Chennai, Palaniswami targeted Stalin, saying that there were no droughts, floods, or cyclones during the DMK regime.

"If the pandemic had emerged, then he (Chief Minister) would have been affected," Palaniswami had remarked, drawing sharp criticism from the Chief Minister and the DMK.

Addressing a campaign at Ponneri (SC) in support of the Congress candidate Durai Chandrasekar, Udhayanidhi said that even if he tried to move past the image of Palaniswami prostrating before V K Sasikala, a former aide of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the public was "not ready to forget it".

"In criticizing me, AIADMK chief Palaniswami stopped short of using abusive words against me. But now he has turned his attention to our Chief Minister, making slanderous remarks," Udhayanidhi said.

He further said that Palaniswami had recently made some allegedly objectionable remarks against him.

"He seems to be obsessed with criticizing me. Henceforth, he should be known as... not Edappadi Palaniswami," the DMK youth wing secretary said.

Clarifying that he did not wish Palaniswami ill, Udhayanidhi sarcastically remarked, "I wish you a long life to serve as the permanent general secretary of the AIADMK."
