
Nyon, February 27 – The draw for the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League Round of 16, held at the House of European Football on Friday, revealed a series of exciting matches in Europe's premier club football tournament.
Following a captivating Playoff phase, which saw Real Madrid and Atalanta advance to the Round of 16, the next phase will commence on March 10 as the final 16 teams vie for glory.
The reigning champions, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), will face off against the holders of the Club World Cup, Chelsea, in one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament. PSG will begin the tie at home before travelling to London for the return leg at Stamford Bridge.
The 15-time European champions, Real Madrid, will once again face Manchester City, who will look to settle the score against the Spanish club.
Meanwhile, English club Arsenal, which remained unbeaten during the group stage, will play German champions Bayer Leverkusen. The Gunners will play the first leg in Germany before hosting the decisive return fixture in North London.
Spanish giants Barcelona will face Newcastle United, who impressed during the group stage. City rivals Atletico Madrid will face Tottenham Hotspur, who have had a challenging domestic season. Italian club Atalanta will face Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in another compelling match.
Liverpool will face Turkish champions Galatasaray, who previously stunned Juventus and are in great form.
The first leg matches in the Round of 16 will be held on March 10 and 11, with the return matches scheduled for March 17 and 18. The top eight teams from the Round of 16 will play in the quarter-finals, which will begin on April 7 and commence on April 15.
