UGC Bill Faces Opposition: Protests and Demands Continue.webp

Jaipur, March 18 The Shree Rajput Karni Sena held a protest here on Wednesday against the proposed UGC Bill (UGC Equity Regulations, 2026), demanding its withdrawal.

The president of the organization, Mahipal Singh Makrana, said that the organization will gherao Members of Parliament (MPs) across the country on March 22, show them black flags, and demand the rollback of the regulations.

He said that the organization will not allow injustice towards young people.

Protests against the bill took place in various parts of the country, including in educational institutions.

The Supreme Court stayed the UGC Equity Regulations on preventing caste-based discrimination on campuses on January 29, saying the framework is "prima facie vague," can have "very sweeping consequences," and may end up dividing society with a "dangerous impact."
