Ukraine Funding Held: EU Urges Hungary to Unblock Aid.webp

March 19, New Delhi: EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas warned on Thursday of the urgent need to support Ukraine's war effort. European Union leaders are expected to pressure Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to lift his blockade on a vital 90-billion-euro ($103 billion) EU loan to Ukraine.

The EU approved the loan in December to help Ukraine sustain its fight against Russia. However, Orban—who has maintained cordial ties with Russia and clashed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy—blocked the loan last month, citing a dispute over a war-damaged pipeline.
