March 12, New Delhi – The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has adopted a resolution condemning Iran's attacks on Gulf states, with 13 members voting in favor, including India, Russia, and China, while abstaining.

The resolution was co-sponsored by Bahrain, with support from 135 countries. Bahrain's UN ambassador, Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, stated that the resolution sent a clear signal that missile and drone strikes on Gulf nations were unacceptable and violated the UN Charter, international law, and principles of good neighborliness.

Meanwhile, the UNSC failed to adopt a resolution drafted by Russia calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities in West Asia, after the measure fell short of the votes needed to pass, with four votes in favor, two against, and nine abstentions.
